How to Make a Cadillac Look Like a Sports Car

Cadillac is one of those luxury vehicles highly coveted nowadays. It is manufacture by General Motors Company that is founded in the US. When it comes to car accessories, they are the trendsetters. They were the first ones who introduced cars with clashless manual transmission systems and full electrical systems.

But like I said, they are luxury cars and not sports car. However, the look can closely resemble that of sports vehicles. If you want to spruce it up, you can design it in such a way that it will look much like a sports car.

Step 1: One fake-out that most pros do is to change the windows into tinted ones. All sports vehicles have tinted windows and while this will not really automatically transform your car, it will closely resemble other sports automobiles like Ferrari. A Cadillac that can also double as a Ferrari? Now that is something.

Step 3: Despite the aggressive performance of sports automobiles, they work considerably quieter than other non-sports vehicles. To make it sound like a real sports auto, you can install a dual exhaust system. This will not only give more muscle to your car, it will also make it perform with less noise.

Step 4: Most cars intended for sports use are better at rounding those sharp corners. This is because it has lower suspension. Notice that all of those manufactured with the stamp of being a sports automobile are closer to the ground. This system allows it to defy a little more gravity so turning those sharp curves are far smoother.

Step 5: Add a few accessories to your car that screams "for sports". Ground effects for instance can transform your Cadillac to a car oozing with racing charms. In addition to that, it also adds more power.

The Legendary Sports Car - The Jaguar E-type

For a car released in 1961, the power was also unheard of. There were four wheel disc brakes, which was only found on race cars at the time, a double overhead cam engine, and completely independent rear suspension. The price at the time was only $5,600, which proved the Jaguar E-type to be a great deal.

In 1969, the second version of the car was released. New features included open headlights without glass covers and a better cooling system. The car now offered an air conditioning and power steering options, while the car seats were designed to be more comfortable. The interior and dashboard also experienced a redesign, as new American health and safety regulations had to be met. The second series of the E-type lasted on three years, but that was because the third version was released in 1971.

An upgraded Jaguar V12 engine was used in the third design of the car. This also came with better brakes and standard power steering. The third series of the Jaguar E-type also had its own unique look, with a front grill and a V12 badge on the rear. The car's wheel arches were also different. The Austin-Healey Sports Car

A review of The Austin-Healey Sports Car, focusing on the development, important features, and technical data of each model in the range, from the 100-4 to the 3000.

In this Article, I offer a nostalgic look at The Austin-Healey Sports Car, one of an elite group of classic cars, which was manufactured during the period 1953 to 1967.

Towards the end of 1951, Donald Healey decided that what his company needed was to produce a sports car positioned in the market between the Jaguar XK120 and the MG TD.

In September 1952, he named his prototype the Healey Hundred since he was confident it would reach 100 mph.

Following his car's presentation at the International Earls Court Motor Show a month later, he signed a 20 year joint venture agreement with the Austin division of the British Motor Corporation to produce the car on a much larger scale.

Hence the birth of the Austin-Healey 100 sports car.

The full range of Austin-Healey cars was manufactured continuously until the agreement ended in 1972.

The Austin Healey 100 Series

Renamed the 100-4, production commenced in 1953. It was referred to as the BN1 series.

The transmission was modified to include a three speed unit with overdrive on the top two gears.

In 1955, the BN2 series of the 100-4 was introduced.

It differed from the BN1 in that it was fitted with a four speed gearbox with overdrive on gears three and four.

An interesting optional extra was the paintwork in the form of two colours (one colour separated from the other).

Also in 1955, another BN2 variant, designated the 100M, was made available. It had larger carburettors, and incorporated a high lift camshaft.

Some three-quarters of these cars were finished with the two tone paint system, only available as an option in the BN1.

Finally, in 1955, a limited edition BN2 variant was introduced, designed specifically for the track.

It was designated the 100S, where the "S" referred to its Sebring connection. Only 50 were ever built.

As a weight saving measure, instead of a cast iron cylinder head, one made of aluminium was used, as were the body panels.

There was no overdrive unit, nor bumpers or a hood, and it was the world's first production car to include all round disc brakes. Most of the cars received the two tone white and blue paint system.

In 1956, the 100-4 was phased out and replaced with the BN4, the first variant of the 100-6.

The BN4 contained two occasional rear seats, and a fixed windscreen which could not be folded down, as was the case with the 100-4. A straight, six-cylinder engine replaced the earlier straight four.

In 1958, the BN6 series was introduced with the 100-6 sports car. It differed from the BN4 in that it was purely a two seater.

By adding a revised manifold and modified cylinder head, the output was increased to 117bhp. Overdrive was now an optional extra.

A total of 14,436 BN4 and BN6 cars were produced.

The Austin Healey 3000 Series

The Austin-Healey 3000 sports car replaced the 100-6 in 1959.

It was given the designation BN7 Mark 1, and was available as a two seater convertible and 2+2 versions. The engine capacity was increased from 2.6 to 2.9 litres.

The Austin-Healey 3000 Mark 2, launched in 1961, was designated the BN7 Mark 2. It was offered as a two seater convertible and 2+2 versions.

Initially, it was fitted with three SU carburettors, which were reduced to two, a year later, since two were easier to keep in balance.

The Austin-Healey 3000 Mark 3 was introduced in 1963, and was the last in the series.

Designated the BJ8, it was the most powerful of the "Big Healeys" due to a new crankshaft and re-designed exhaust. Only the 2+2 version was available.

This marked the end of the Austin-Healey sports car.
